Post Pandemic

    Rajans69 reunion was about to happen when this picture was taken.  Our venue then, was the Aristocrat Restaurant at Malate, Manila.  The three of us went there to finalize the venue, menu and other details for the celebration.  It is always comforting to be with friends from way back, we were high school classmates at Raja Soliman High School.  There were several meetings conducted before we came to this stage, and each meeting was well attended by our schoolmates/classmates of batch 69.        It was a well attended event, still many were not able to attend for some various reasons, foremost of which was the much feared Covid-19.  Most of our schoolmates who are now residing from United States of America (US of A) and in some other parts of the world, some are working and some are residents of their respective countries, were not able to come because there ban travel was still imposed at that time.     ...

Lunch out with sister and friend

It's Friday so we decided to treat ourselves, so we traverse the Commonwealth going to UP Town.  Actually, I will treat the two (since I will be paying) to Ryu Ramen and Curry.  The traffic was so heavy that it took us almost an hour to reach the place, and we were only at the vicinity since our office is in Quezon Avenue corner EDSA. Nevertheless, we persevere and there we were.  Luck is on us, the place is full and we have to wait for about 15 minutes (standing) Ryu Ramen and Curry in this area is relatively a small place with patronage more than it can house.  Since it was a full house, we chatted for a while.  It was my idea that maybe the food taste good since many are its customers.  Alas, we were seated and given the menu.  So we review the menu and called on the assistance, a bowl of ryutantamen, two kinds of gyoza (pork and chicken) ebi tempura, japanese fried rice  and beef tendon curry were our choices. First to serve was the po...

The Constant Changing Me

Today is July 28, 2015, and it so happen that I accidentally find in my browser my blog entitled "Saturday Cook".  I read about the blogs i wrote sometime ago, and discovered that i had make mistakes in spelling word(s), grammatical error, and even repetitions of paragraphs.  I did tried to remember what were the things I was doing when I wrote those articles(?) and why did I not notice those big mistakes.   And since I can't remember and the feelings that I had during the times when I was writing the particular blogs, I can't help myself, and so I just smile and thought "oh, why should I be ashamed of those wrong spellings and grammar and other errors, its just natural, people do made those mistakes, no big deal!" Another thing, my blogs are all about anything and everything which violates the "title" of my blogs.  Some does not even have anything to do about cooking but of some other things about me and about something else and somebo...

Thank God It's Friday (TGIF)

CARPOOLING Carpooling saves fuel, develop new friends and builds camaraderie.  So everyday I wait for my co-rider in a carpool manage by my office mate.  My co riders are from the different offices near my place of work.  Food has always been a part of our daily conversation, sharing the places where each one of us had eaten and enjoyed the food, likewise the places that serves bad tasting foods.  This way, when one of us celebrate his or her birthday, we plan in advance where we will eat.  This Friday night happens to be the belated celebration of our handsome driver, the owner of the car we used for carpooling.  Here are some pictures of our group and the food we ate last night:     Another Chinese cuisine, each serving was just right for two, so we order two of each kind.  There were so many people waiting to be tabled.  The fish and tofu was delicious, likewise the other dishes we ordered. The siomai, grilled tig...

@work with my team

        With the increasing report of abuses involving women and children, our office can't help but be concerned  on the management of how the police should handle cases like these.  The initial action would be how to protect their rights be they are victims or offenders.  As you see, these part of citizenry should not be treated like common criminals, no special treatment particularly the offenders, but just to retain and maintain their dignity and to keep their identity confidential while the case or trial is on going.  So our office, mandated to have control and supervision over the police, laid out several policies that would guide the police officers on how to handle cases of women and of children in conflict with the law.         Those policies were set for implementation years ago, foremost among them is the establishment of Women's Desk in every police stations.  The committee on Gender Awareness Develo...

Spending Sunday Afternoon with Nicole

         Nicole is the daughter of my niece Emyrose who is now in Dubai.  Nicole has been with me since she was seven years old and she is now eleven and is in grade VI.  It's been a month since the school had started and the hustles of first months has taken a tool for both of us.  Buying school things, books,uniforms, shoes, bags and all the writing tools that goes with it.           And so this is the first Sunday that I can spend alone (?) i hope, but luckily, Nicole wanted to come and see the place other than the school door.  Surely, we did had a fun Sunday afternoon, shopping for some new clothes, because she has grown taller.  Ah! how time flies, we saw some tees on sale and shorts too.  But before that I did pay my bills, phone,cable and water.               We were at the Lucky Dragon Mall in Manila. Walking the aisles of the mall and looking for things...

amazing life

Despite all the problems that have come my way, despite the fact that I am not married and despite that fact that I have no money, still God is with me every step of the way.  Yesterday, I revisit the place where I lived for almost seven (7) years.  Not for personal reason but for the requirements of the new school where Nicole is now enrolled.  And so there I was, at the mall, very near the house where we used to lived (Almar).  It's been more than a year since we moved, the place was as usual busy, there are lots of changes since then.  I remember those times when we frequent this place, at times just wandering looking for nitty gritty things needed in school, paying the bills, (bayad center), buying groceries, and eating at some of the fast food chains ( Jollibee, McDonalds, Chowking, and some food stands selling shawarma, hotdog on stick/bread, fish balls, gulaman and other fruit juices. But changes were made, there no longer is ...

Reaching the Final End

Is dying the final end?  At this point i have reached another phase of life...when i decided to end the relation, i thought i would die,there was so much pain, pain that brought so much tears and heartaches which lasted for a long time. I'd pray every night for guidance, for God to hold my hand and guide me through life.  Slowly, very slowly my days are gets brighter, smiles come easy, i can see colors, bright and loud.  Once again, my heart sings and my eyes aglow and my voice has its vibrato.  Yes, there is a new world before my eyes, awaiting for me.  I was given another chance to live happy and freely. Free from hurt and from the thought that i made mistakes that ends my seven years of relationship to the man i had love all my life.   Just when i have found myself again, i learned of his demise.  I searched for that emotion, but i am empty.  Suddenly, the man is just another stranger that passed this earth.  I know i love him,...

simple thoughts

yesterday i received a news, the person i used to loved died.  I don't know how to feel about this, i don't even know if i am sad or just refuse to feel this moment. I used to wonder why things happen, but this event somehow answers the question. No, i am not happy just because that someone is no longer here on earth, i guess i am just unburdened of heartaches and of how and why.  I just wish that he been happy during the last days of his life.  That all his dreams were fulfilled and that God gave him everything he asked for.  At this moment, while writing this, i know why i feel not lonely instead i feel light, because i am now free.  I am free from wondering how he is living his life, i am free from thinking of his happiness, i am free from worrying about him because he is now with his Creator, and he is being well taken care of.                Thank you God, for giving me back my freedom, I trust my life and ev...
My wish garden From the looks of it this is an easy thing to do... but i have no experience of planting anything except mongo in our science class.  I live in the city all my life and I have no idea of how to plant, how flowers grow and what entails the planting of plants.  Of course there are these flowery plants in some of my neighbor and friends houses, and i always admire beautiful flowers.  However, i do have an ashma and i am allergic to pollen of whatever. Having this predicament, i have always been particular of plants and even animals and birds (feathers and fur alike) even heavy drapes or curtains.  But this does not mean i have a lonely life, mind you i love every minute that i am alive.      As i am so ignorant on planting anything, still i love to learn how to plant as simple as fern(s).  And as we have a very small place i thought i could have one littlest garden like in this picture.  One of this day, i am going to plan...
