Thank God It's Friday (TGIF)

CARPOOLING Carpooling saves fuel, develop new friends and builds camaraderie.  So everyday I wait for my co-rider in a carpool manage by my office mate.  My co riders are from the different offices near my place of work.  Food has always been a part of our daily conversation, sharing the places where each one of us had eaten and enjoyed the food, likewise the places that serves bad tasting foods.  This way, when one of us celebrate his or her birthday, we plan in advance where we will eat.  This Friday night happens to be the belated celebration of our handsome driver, the owner of the car we used for carpooling.  Here are some pictures of our group and the food we ate last night:     Another Chinese cuisine, each serving was just right for two, so we order two of each kind.  There were so many people waiting to be tabled.  The fish and tofu was delicious, likewise the other dishes we ordered.         With the increasing report of abuses involving women and children, our office can't help but be concerned  on the management of how the police should handle cases like these.  The initial action would be how to protect their rights be they are victims or offenders.  As you see, these part of citizenry should not be treated like common criminals, no special treatment particularly the offenders, but just to retain and maintain their dignity and to keep their identity confidential while the case or trial is on going.  So our office, mandated to have control and supervision over the police, laid out several policies that would guide the police officers on how to handle cases of women and of children in conflict with the law.         Those policies were set for implementation years ago, foremost among them is the establishment of Women's Desk in every police stations.  The committee on Gender Awareness Develo...

Spending Sunday Afternoon with Nicole

         Nicole is the daughter of my niece Emyrose who is now in Dubai.  Nicole has been with me since she was seven years old and she is now eleven and is in grade VI.  It's been a month since the school had started and the hustles of first months has taken a tool for both of us.  Buying school things, books,uniforms, shoes, bags and all the writing tools that goes with it.           And so this is the first Sunday that I can spend alone (?) i hope, but luckily, Nicole wanted to come and see the place other than the school door.  Surely, we did had a fun Sunday afternoon, shopping for some new clothes, because she has grown taller.  Ah! how time flies, we saw some tees on sale and shorts too.  But before that I did pay my bills, phone,cable and water.               We were at the Lucky Dragon Mall in Manila.
